We always knew a Saturday afternoon visit to Luxury Nest offered a relaxed environment to scan the  latest in design approaches.  Lucky us, and lucky you, for the opening of ZenCafe two store fronts south on Main Street.  We are inspired by the space and design approach, and it transports us to peaceful places no matter how stressful your day.  We really recommend that you make time to stop by, either before or after your visit to Luxury Nest’s showroom.

We Love Conversions

Properties originally intended for one purpose and reconstructed to serve another are the ultimate design challenge.  It stretches us and often provides exciting structures and materials like this church to condo conversion that we provided most of the furnishing for.

You can see the amazing ceiling work that provides drama and background texture and complexity to the project.

While the period structure, woodwork, and plaster transport our minds to another time, the project also offers nooks to create more traditional rooms that receive the extra architectural benefit of unusual ceiling heights or angles and original flooring materials.  One example is this living room that we designed and outfitted with pieces all available on our showroom floor now:

And, every church has a kitchen, and we were pleased to be selected by the room’s designer to add some of the finishing touches:

So, from our point of view, the bigger the challenge the larger the reward.

Luxury Nest is proud to be part of the most important design event in Atlanta this season.  The St. Regis Atlanta Hotel & Residences, which debuted in Buckhead this spring, was marked from the start by legendary style and elegance that made it an ideal setting for many of the city’s top designers to unleash their talents as part of the 39th annual Decorators’ Show House & Gardens. The resulting 29 spaces—spanning three distinctly different high-rise units—demonstrate that luxury has never been more evident—or more important—than it is today. Atlantans are not scaling back or scaling down, but rather, making the skies the limits for great design. Even traditional spaces pushed these boundaries, adopting an eclectic mix and a fresh outlook.

Power and Simplicity

We were inspired by the simplicity and power in this work by Cambridge artist Michael Mazur.  His dynamic paintings reflect the journey of a man who refuses to stand still artistically.  This particular work reflects a tremendous energy through a minimalist approach.  We strive to create similar impact through clean design for our clients who reflect this sensibility in their design goals.  We come across artists and their works that often move us in ways that inform projects in both planning and execution stages.  We are always on the look out for excellence in design arts and spend countless hours seeking the most profound statements of inspired work.
